My Bad Run with Car Audio

Postby GGnz » Sun Sep 18, 2005 11:26 am

Seems I'm still having problems now my 1k headunit had stopped working. The sub is still going but the normal speaker outputs have stopped which suggests something has blown inside somewhere.

So far I've had this happenn in my old Corolla with another Pioneer headunit, I've blown a sub, and the amp kept playing up!

Grrrrrr, when will it end!?!?!?!?

Down at Amplified Audio getting fixed. Does anyone know if this is a common fault with Pioneer headunits? I've had it happen to 2 different models in 2 different cars now.

are the speakers running off the headunit? if so, i put my money that there is a speaker earthing, even if it is one single strand of wire touching the door,

Didn't it take you about 2 minutes before you were swearing at its mulitmultilayers menus that take half an hour to find anything in?

Yup, but i finally got the hang of it, and found how you can set the hz, gain and junk for each output (front back), so ive got it sounding mint right now.

as soon as we add a sub, im gonna have to go and play with the damned settings again, and THEN ill be swearing again.

but hey, more options = good!

No offence dude, but I can see a common fault here... :?

I've only ever owned Pioneer headunits, and I've never really had a drama...my current DEHP8450 goes like a dream... 8)

Yip this is what I reckon it is also.. Had this problem last week wire was earthing on the rear door speaker and stopped them all from going bar the Amp and Sub which were still going..

Yeah checking this wiring this afternoon. Rung Amplified Audio and they have orders a new Audio Out Chip for the headunit. Should have it back next week hopefully. They said it was probably a speaker wire. Just thought I'd ask since it was wierd it happened in 2 different cars with 2 different headunit.

Just shows you how rungi Cozmos headunit/speaker install really was since I used his wiring
