yeh thats the headunit i got from parallel. I dropped the face and half the screen didnt work. I took it back (the whole stereo) they said they will fix it for free, after lots of pissing round i got the stereo back and none of the buttons work on the facepalte except for the function and volume. Really pissed off, but good h.u never the less. Its got music catcher too

It's a pity they don't stock the DXZ-746MP any more, they were a superb head unit for their $299 asking price!!!

Adydas have you tried one out? Make sure you do as I have a pioneer 6750 (lower in the range I know but the buttons will probably be similar) and I'm really not happy with the flimsyness of the buttons. I've played with a few of the new pioneers in the shops and the big round buttons always feel like they are about to snap off, and somtimes not reading your inputs. ie. push skip forwards and nothing happens.

Zorril have you looked at something like this?

looks a good deal at the price...

Do you have an iPod? If so, hands down best unit on the market for under $500 is the KDC-5033U from Kenwood. HPF/LPF, 24 bit Burr Brown DACs, direct USB control of iPods and MP3 players + charging, and its nice to use too. Doesnt have dancing dolphins, but you'll cope ;)

Damn those dancing dolphins!

They're what convinced me to get my pioneer with the crappy buttons.
