Save yourself some greif and get a professional installer to do the job for you....Atomic Audio in Dunedin has a trained installer in the gear to do it right......Speakers are easy to swap out but beware there are alot of fctory units that run low impedance speaker outputs that will shag themselves when replaced by good new gear....

eh? car stereo speaker standard is 4 ohm. I doubt you'll find anything lower than that in a car, and even if you do, replacing with a higher impedance is highly unlikely to damage the source unit.

Heh, beware Bose in cars, most things don't like running a half ohm load.

No idea about the Highlander though sorry.

My point was to see the pro to get the correct speakers for your vehicle,
size in depth and circumference is different for almost each vehicle and some aftermarket audio manufacturers only make standard sizes...
ie: 4" shallow mount fittings narrow down your options hugely and only top end audio manufactureres may have a bolt in option......best have the panels off and see what mounting, depth and other restrictions are there in reality, not what is `thought` of by others...my reference is personal experience......you wouldn`t go into ripco and ask, they would sell you whatever is on the shelf and the most expensive!

True, but that would be 'lower' impedance, not higher, would it not?

Whose bose system did you blow up?

True that, depends how confident you are about taking apart what looks to be a brand new vehicle. On slightly older vehicles it's very easy to take panels off and work out what's what.

Does anyone know where i can get a copy of the wiring diagram for the 2008 highland with GPS navigation unit?

Have just purchased the car and gone to the dealer to check out the navigation unit it doesn't have any rca outs or anything like that.

Or even better does anyone know whether i can purchase/downloading/view the diagram CD for the 2008 toyota highlander LTD edition.
