Lock nut issues...

Postby ADIKTD » Sun Feb 17, 2008 8:56 pm

Hey there, Well I recently bought a car and it had one locknut in each wheel... as is expected with rims and all... but I have a problem... the key suppled has been well worn down and is practically round - how do I go about getting the locknuts off so I can get new tyres? Do tyre shops have keys? What a pain!

Cheers!

if its an internal spline and its worn down it can be a major pain in the arse... i spent 2 hours with a cold chisel taking a set of them off the other day. the 4th one wouldnt come off and we ended up welding a nut onto the locknut
When in doubt, down and out.
