Alarm/Immobiliser + Installer Auckland or North Shore

Postby xsspeed » Fri May 01, 2009 12:00 pm

My mrs' little sister has gone and bought a BMW on finance (long story)

Anyway, she asked me about getting an immobiliser, I assume this is a requirement of the finance or insurance company.

Not sure how much she wants to spend, obviously the higher '5 star' alarms have immobiliser etc, but dont think she will go for the expensive option.

Whats a half decent middle of the road type alarm/immobiliser and where should she go? Approx prices?

And also whats the going rate for 5 star type jobs (AVS S5, Mongoose M80G - assuming those models are still around)

She is based on the shore so instantly Tsoob springs to mind, are you still tied up with AVS?

think she just went and got something herself before I could pass on info to her, has a flashing blue led now at least

Have no idea what model code is, its a 1996 328

She still doesnt have learners and drives it daily.

Do BMW motors have dissys? Might just yank the coil-dissy cable so she cant use it

Sounds like your mrs' sister is a right winner.

Someone add some more chlorine to the pool already!!!

On a side note, i'm sure the fact someone without a license can finance a car is the reason so many finance companies went down the tubes.

Yeah this disturbs me the most, I cannot believe that they are allowed to finance someone for a car without a licence,

She has got insurance through them as well, no idea how that works.

Cant see the underwriter approving insurance if she has a crash
