alpine cd stacker

Postby petrolhead » Sat Oct 31, 2009 5:55 pm

Hey guys, i have got a 94 camry with alpine headset and 6 cd stacker in it but cant get the stacker to work. When i press the cd button on the headset it displays E01. I gather that is an error. I have not had the stacker going since we got the car and have only just bothered to try and sort it out now(after 2yrs lol). I have only once had the "cd wallet" out of the stacker because when i put it back in, it would refuse to eject again. Is it worth taking it out and trying to get it fixed or should i just buy a new one? Also do most stackers have the same plug or will i have to try find an identical alpine replacement?
Thanks

Google the model numbers and see what comes up... might be able to find common problems, or even better still, a set of instructions/ manual. Also have a look inside it if you can, see if there are any parts that look wrong- bent out of shape, missing, etc. Could be somethings's just out of alignment.

Bear in mind that if something is broken, you are looking at trying to repair or get parts for a stereo that could be a fair few years old... for the cost of repairs, Sergei's suggestion of just buying a new stereo is just as good an idea. Pays to check your options first though!

CD stackers get jammed. Pulling it to bits and reassembling might fix it until the next time it jams.
