Anyone know of any good 5x7 speakers please?

Postby Mr Ree » Fri Apr 15, 2011 11:49 am

Hi guys,
Im looking to replace my big heavy kenwood tube sub that comes with a built in amp, and downsize to something far lighter/secure.

I have an OEM club enclosure but the voice coil has all but siezed so I need to buy a new cone. Most of the 5x7 cones I have seen are either 2 or 3 way full range speakers, and whilst I will be running it through a LPF, Im sure that a dedicated 5x7 woofer would sound alot better than a loudspeaker.

Im not after huge sounds, I hardly listen to them while driving anyway, but definitely want more bass for the road trips to the track as having no back seats/rear interior makes for ALOT of road noise, and very little doof doof.

Any suggestions on where I would be best to look in NZ?

Thanks guys :)

KICKER DS680.2 would be the best option in NZ can be ordered in from Repco or theres a guy in palmy north who brings them in.

Thanks for the heads up mate.

I had decided to settle on some earthquake 5x7's but the kickers would be more ideal due to being a 1 way speaker.

I might enquire at repco to see what price they can offer them for.

Cheers :)
