I have put together a system using a few vintage JBL items that
have been sitting in the shed for a while. There is a 4-channel amp
driving splits in front and DDW6.5's in back. There is a separate
amp driving a small sub. A JBL active crossover high passes the
fronts, low passes the rears, and provides a non-fading output for
the sub. For the moment this is all running off a cheap head unit
with one pair of RCA's.
Now, when considering upgrading the head unit to mechless item,
I discovered to my dismay, that modern head units are 2/3rds
devoted to bluetooth, iPod, video, navigation, indexes, playlists
and phone related BS that is of no use to me. I just want a unit
that plays music as its main purpose in life. Maybe I'll have to see
if I can find something oldschool
Anyways, digging into the boxes I found what appears to be a new
and unused JBL GTP4 Imaging Enhancer. Everything is there except
the manual. I was thinking of installing it just for giggles, but I
would like to have a read of the manual before that. It has input
RCA's for front and back channels, but I don't know if it should go
before the crossover or after ?
So if anyone has a .pdf of the manual tucked away, I'd love to get
a copy
