You cant have a standard one running 22psi!
The factory ecu reads the level of torque being put out and adjust the boost pressure so that the torque figure is what it should be!
e.g. If the torque reading goes substantially above 450nM then the boost level is reduced. If the torque goes substantially below 450nM then boost pressuree iss increased to compensate and to get the amount of torque back to what the factory specified.

The XR8 has more PEAK torque but the XR6-T has a far broader torque curve, (**I think**) the Turbo has 450nM spread over 2500rpm

go the turbo, get a phat kit for it dump it on deep deep dish wheels jet black and a huge beeearch front mount would be a pretty pimp lookin car with plenty on tap

finally! Ford's seen the light, and started injecting sum good ol japanese knowhow into their range (multivalve dohc engines, etc)
