Yeah, ban them, then people will resort to making them themselves and natural selection will come into effect. The idiots will blow themselves up, then people will stop complaining.

Don't understand why NZ has such an issue with fireworks? In the UK they still have sky rockets and doublehappies etc. Why do they not have the same problems?

Age limit of 14 is ridiculous, how has that ever been policeable? Make the age limit 20/21, and impose the same fines on retailers as selling liquor to underagers. Impose a hefty fine on anyone in possesion(without supervision) under 21 too.

I've been bouncing back and forth on this one, a part of me thinks human nature is the problem, but another part of me is very sad that idiots cant be trusted.

I dont have the magic answer, unfortunately...

I think fireworks are gay so they should be banned and only allowed to have public displays.

Teenagers should spend their money on more important things like drugs and alcohol

I would like to second that statement, except the part about fireworks being queer

I love fireworks, but I don't fire them at people or use them to blow up small animals

I think the best solution is to make the age limit for them 18, because by the time you are that age, you either love fire works and realise using them like a retard is going to have them banned, or you just think they are boring

I mean serious, age limit 14 WTF PEOPLE!

I think all the accidents with fireworks are due to their crap quality. When I was in Japan they had good quality fireworks that didn't fallover all the time and fire flaming balls into spectators or those ten shot things that sometimes explode in your hands, or the massive three shot things that were loaded the wrong way and fired out the bottom causing a huge fire. But my favourites are the ones that don't do anything after a minute so you go "oooh yay that was gay!" approach the firework and it goes off right in your face. They are the best

If we didn't have shoddy chinese stuff it might be safer, they should try that before making out its the users fault

If they were banned id make my own.

its not as silly as it sounds. Plenty of people load there own shells with gunpowder etc. its perfectly legal.

Hell, id even do the chemical formulas 3 times over to make sure it was ok.

The real issue i have is if we keep "babing" kids of today, by wrapping them in cotton wool and keeping them far away from the bad bad world, we just breed a generation of soft cocked playstation whores, who when we are in our old age, wont be able to save our asses when someone decides that Wars on.
