Personally I don't see it's really needed.
A forum is not the place to report stolen cars.
It will only work for distinctive cars. No one will spot a grey 111 that's been nicked.

Will you read it and keep an active look out?
I think you are better off informing on, sorting out those elements of society you know involved in criminal activities an making it harder for that scene to exist.
Drugs, burglaries, car theft, robberies. It's all linked.

there is also this:

I dont know any criminals, but yet I am still very concerned about car theft.

So what do people in my situation do? Try and make friends within criminal circles, so I can then find out who the bad guys are?

Having a stolen cars thread can only be viewed as helpful to the community, there are no negatives.

I fail to see the reason for debate.

If people are like me they generally troll classifieds and auctions for cars.
So it can be useful to check if you remember a car was stolen recently matching the description.

Sure a grey 111 driving down the road wouldn't get my attention but someone trying to flick one cheaply in the next few days would arouse my suspicion. Even on different plates ect.

In saying that I'm not sure a sub-forum is really necessary.

I had a car stolen recently and didn't post it here because not Toyota or distinctive. That combined with the lack of traffic.

Start a thread as a trial. If it gets so much use that a whole sub forum is a necessity (I doubt it) then you can do that.

I personally can't see it getting any more use than the multimedia subforum (remember that?

Would be good with rules about how to post in it... like make model colour must be in title so make searching easier.
photo preferable, list of distinctive parts, chassis number, other numbers etc. in body of message.
no "gutted bro" posts etc.

It might help people who are buying parts if there was a "go to" forum to check for stolen Toyota cars/bits.

What about a stolen everything forum, to increase the potential activity?

And if people post stolen car etc topics elsewhere, they should get moved to the dedicated forum.

But yeah, there are no real negatives to having one. Try it for 6 months, if it doesn't work then can it.

What cars will it be aimed at? Toyspeeders cars, or any Tom, Dick and Harry's rides that get stolen?
