Monster Tacho's

Postby Rumad » Tue Jan 27, 2004 3:41 am

the 'neon' thread made me think of this one:

i think THESE are the definition of rice!! sure if accuracy was a 'real' issue, i could understand it, but think about it...by the time u have registered the 400rpm difference (maximum, i would imagine?) between actual revs and the reading on ya factory tacho, you are prolly bouncin off your rev limiter already!

I can also semi-understand if ya got an ol-school ride with no factory tacho...but even then, WHY SO BIG?? lmao...is this another one of them "Makin up for a lack of...." type things that i dont know about? would explain why i will never own one ;)

depends how they are used really.
Used properly then not rice.
Used with a whole bunch of other gauges which scroll through a range of different colours displaying the vital stats of your mildly worked (read: noisy mods only) up stock internaled engine, then more rice than an uncle bens factory

even worse, they are already here, can't remeber who sells them but they retail at $99 a set (for hubbys :P ) and are only available in 14" and 15" sizes thank goodness, least every man and his drivers licenced dog won't have them on their 13" rims like seems half the population of levin does

cringes at the thought of hillbilly levin wiggers fitting 14"s or 15's so they can have spinning hubbys just like the rappers

LOL, pop it over in the riced up honda, what the hell is the point in havign two guages that do exactly the same thing. stupidity. but we can all just laugh at them for spending $400 on a big guage thats not accurate.

i do agree though, that if you dont have a factory one, it's ok. otherwise, go the factory rev counter. hehe, supercharger light. hehehehe.

I have a fat but small momo wheel, and cant see passed 4500rpm without moving my head, so a tacho is my only option. My opinion is, if its purely cosmetic, its just extra weight slowin u down.
