We bought our house, such a better way of wasting money  paying our own mortgage instead of some other pricks.

Own 2 houses but don't live in either

When in NZ I prefer to rent. In the UK right now I rent as well and it's cheap as

I'm another one who does both - I own, but have rented the house out, and I live in a house that my partner and I rent off her parents. Works well, my mortgage is paid by my tenants, and I'm paying less than my mortgage to live here.

I found it was going to be cheaper to buy than rent, so to speak, bought a 2 bedroom unit for less than renting a 3 bedroom house, sure, I dont have as much space, but in time to come the money is in my pocket, not someone elses. PLan is, in 2 years, I'll own my 2nd, or maybe even 3rd place.

Currently tossing up the same question. It may be that I go renting for a little while then see what kind of location/house I want to get into.

Just signed my life away on a mortgage for a 4 bedroom house with 3 car garage and workshop on 1/2 acre of subdividable land and gonna be paying way less than the shitty rent on the crappy 2 bedroom ex state house no section single garage pos we rent at the moment and we will own 25% of the house immediately:D

I nearly went in to the 'House Ownership' group the other day but I'm not to keen on buying a house on Leasehold so gave it a pass...

Problem is just in Auckland house prices are SHIT. I'd rather have to drive 45mins to work and back everyday and get me like a 1/2 acre section somewhere little bit outside of Auckland where I can have animals and cars etc.

I bought with my girlfriend about 6 months ago. Expensive but fukn rocks having your own place with garage and big back yard for the dog. She never liked the last rental place lol.

Plan is to do it up then rent it out or buy another place for the same reason. I want lots of land, bigger garage and shit...problem is with working in the wgtn cbd its pretty hard to get those things close to town.

Best thing is I didn't have to sell any of my cars 8)
