So, what brand/type (grade..etc) of engine oil u guys using??

i try use redline if i can help it, but the dude usually stuffs up the order so in an emergancy i will use castrol

Agip Sint 2000 GPX 10W-40 Fully Synthetic oil. If it's good enough for Ferrari it's good enough for me :lol:

I use castrol GTX which seems to go alright in the car, used penzoil once but never again 8)

As far as what not to use, i would have to go with Valvoline.

i think its the worst shit out there..

Ryanne / Twolitre and many other people on the supraforums.com in the US have had problems with that shit.. one being a white residue under the cap..

which some would recognise as a BHG or water in the cooling system :?

Yeah valvoline is the sh*t. My old man use to use it in his outboard, that was until a whole batch of it came through contaminated with fibreglass and cost him several pistons and rings.

i used Fuchs once but i ended up losing most of it cos of an unknown oil leak :roll:

its what all the new mercs and i think even porsche uses out of the factory

I use Castrol GTX too, that's just what they put in when they do my servicing. I take it to Manawatu Toyota, so hopefully being Toyota people, they know what they are doing! :D

I have to get my car serviced for my warranty - is damn annoying paying approx $100 for an oil change! GRRR !!

Yeah know what thats like those warranties are tough. Lucky my old man is a member of the MTA so he could do it all for me (well I did it and he signed the book). But hey at least its there should you need it aye.

i was using valvoline semi synthetic but have just changed to penzoil 10/30 i think? Had no problems so far with any.

Used to run mobil 1 but had 2 engines crap out and seize while running on it (inside the sump the oil had gone hard and caked up - utter shit!
