I reckon if they limited you to having extra low performance cars until you were 25, I'd just go and get a high performance bike!

These are much faster than cars, and cheaper!

hmmm that designated "cc" thing is a tad extreme! think about it u can get a 1200cc rotary that will blow away most cars on the market, also a 1300cc gt starlet...
They need to rethink this matter.
I mean just raise the driving age would be the best step, they are way to young to be behind a car wheel, think they are invisable when theyre not!
The amount of youngsters writing them selfs off or there cars is growing, there parents buy thm flash cars or lend them theres and they think they are in control but there not...

They need a old corolla or something with a trusty SLOW standard 2-4k engine... :P :P :P

Was thinking about this myself. I guess the answer is to do what they do in some motorsports. Apply cc multipliers for forced induction and rotary. Something like 1.7x for turbocharger/supercharger and 2x(??) for rotary engines.

I guess even this sort of action isn't going to stop people writing themselves off. Just make it a little harder. There would need to be a heck of a lot more enforcement of rules if this was to happen.

Really? Go and look at the UK Vehicle Licensing system: It is COMPULSORY to have insurance if you intend to drive a motor vehicle on a public road. That has been the law since the early 80's i believe, maybe even longer. Over here, a 15 year old can get behind the wheel of a V8 Holden or Ford, and drive off! What happens if he looses control? The insurance system in the UK is divided into classes. If you have the money, then sure, you can drive a higher powered car. If you don't, tough.

This system has signficantly reduced the amount of deaths/accidents caused by so-called 'Boy Racers' (NB i don't think CHCH on Autosalon night is a good example, Mr Campbell) Last i saw, under 20 y/o drivers accounted for less than 10% of car accidents in the Country.

lol
this threed has done nothing but fuel the boy racer bulshit

there is no such thing as a boy racer
ther are young people and there cars
....funnyly enough therse always been young people and there cars
and theve always driven iresposably

things are no different to 20 years ago
you recon cars today are more high powered... lol
so go back 20 years when people where drivn vaxual viva's with uncerted 460's in them were slow... or safe ???
i think some of you need to pull ya head out of your arse and stop beliveing what the media tells you to think
just for once have a thought that is your own
young people are not the only cause of accidents on the road
in fact
there a minor part of the yearly figures... so what the big deal
you wanna pick on a minority because why ???
they have loud exhausts????
the have shinny wheels????
they have a BOV ????
sounds like jelosy and nitpicking

oh and the classic comment
"im so sick of shitt tinny 20v exhausts"
well guess what buddy im sick of loud drowning sick sounding v8 exhausts too
and to be honest who gives a $&#$%

whats the point in you all sitting in here having a winge..nothing better to do or just retarded like the X-fucktor
fact is most people are jelous because young lads have nicer cars than people that have worked all there lives to have what theve got
no longer is there first big purchuse a house
its now a car

now for my opinion
shut the $&#$% up
im sick of hearing about the media boy racer bulshit
dont bring it to the car forums leave it where it sould be
in the bulshit you read about everyday in you newspapers and that crap they call the news

or perhaps you want more halfwits ranting on the board bout how "we " wrecked there event
guys so drugfucked hed have to be related to old x

/end rant

I'll say! Not a single spelling error!

Is this really vvega???? :?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
