yeah, no8_wire i think your response is a bit extreme..

if someones that depressed, it must be pretty... well... depressing..

im sure people who kill themselves have given it a bit of thought and for some reason have seen it as their final and only option. sometimes it seems a bit selfish, on their friends and family.. but for some reason they see their situation that way and you cant really take it lightly..

I think you'll find I was talking about people that are scared to talk about their situations for fear of negative opinions, as opposed to people that kill themselves instead of talking and getting help.
Dugtrio used Earthquake. It's super effective.

Not much sympathy here. Anywho, I think the depression thing is quite hard to say whether it is a mental illness or not. Some people just go though a shit couple of months at work or something and end up being prescribed some meds cause they can't cope and don't have a good friend to talk it out with. But then there are those who have intense feelings of guilt, sadness, worthlessness etc and no amount of emotional support can help them. This is the much nastier side of depression, and usually is a real problem. And often the macho 'just harden up' routine makes them feel more worthless because they can't.

BP is not something that can easily be attributed to just some emotional problems tho. You feel great for a few weeks, motivated, writing yourself little lists, getting everything done, going to the gym, really enjoying social occasions etc... posting on the net at 3am :D

Then the next few weeks are hell. You feel like shit in the morning (even if you haven't been drinking), you hate yourself, everything seems dull, you avoid friends, you really grate with people. You start thinking of giving away all the things you have started and just can't cope. And when somebody comes along and tells you to harden up, it makes it even worse.

Then it starts all over again.
