Regular spare or Space Saver?

well i have a spacey but ive never had a flat tyre in my driving life *touches wood* but i tend to think the only thing space savers are good for is stand stills

Ive had to use a space saver on the front and back of the mr2 at seperate times, not very nice at all unless i was in the mood for a bit of fun

hehe my holden had a space saver... was a 195... it had 245s all round, thatll make a 195 look like a spacie!

Had to drive all the way back from Turoa-wgtn on a space saver, had no probs with it, although it was a very long drive back at the 80km. Unfortunately being a sunday there was nowhere to get a tyre, so had to wait till monday to go to TST.

I know you're not meant to drive such long distances in them, but sometimes you don't have much of a choice. If you're sensible in them and have them correctly inflated, the same size as your other tyres and stay below the speed limit recommended for them then you shouldn't have any problems.

As people have also said - not all cars are capable of handling a full size tyre as a spare.

Has anyone tried the spray stuff for punctures that you spray onto/into the tyre when flat, you're meant to beable to drive on your tyre once used??????

The Hiace has a full sized spare, my last vehicle (Mitsi Diamante) did not. And I refuse to drive on them now too. Factory fault in the space saver - had it on the back and it buckled going round a roundabout - put me into the back of the van in front which decided to stop rather abruptly (being on the back the car fishtailed and put me in the other lane damnit).

So yeah, hate the damn things myself.
