Another point - Brian Tamaki is a "pastor" as opposed to a "priest". Therefore he has no religious qualifications...

In other words he doesn't know what he's talking about!!

Haha all the more reason to ignore his "religious" preaching!!

What horrified me the most about it is that children were involved. This the the generation that Tamaki is hitting with his propoganda because there the easiest to brainwash.

In a day and age where "anything goes" is the norm, these kids are going to grow up with the belief that being homosexual is wrong, and will most likely enact violence on said people.

Just what the world needs, another WACO texas, but it will be NZ based. The world does not need people such as this man clogging up what is really a basic issue.

I'm not gay, but even I can see that love comes in all shapes and forms, and that if gays want to have there relationship recognised by law, i have no problem with it. Each to there own. Technically gay couples are living as a defacto relationship anyway so why it would differ if say, i die, and my gf has to make the decisions about what happens to my body etc (because she is my defacto partner)? It shouldnt, because its the same situation.

Im waiting for the day the Destiny Church gets ablolished, because all it is is a farce, and a discrace to what is meant to be freedom of speech, and actions (with in reason), and i dont see how homosexual couples wanting to make there union official is wrong.

thats what church and sunday school is all about.
religion and the thought of there been a god is a man made way of thinking. This shouldn't be brought onto children who will believe anything they are told, especially using scare tactics such as "hell"

Got a song that some of u have prolly heard before by a band called Clawfinger...there norweigan or finnish or somethin, but theyve got a song called "Two Sides", which should be played to Mr Tamaki because it says it all perfectly, and for all of u that dont know what im on about, heres the lyrics to see what i mean...

There's nothing a god can give to me that I can't give to myself
I put my beliefs in the things I believe and a god can take care of himself
There's not enough love in the world for me to think about wasting my time
It's not that I don't believe at all but I can't need a heavenly sign
I can achieve the things I need without getting down on my knees
I can respect your religion but I don't want to pay your fees
I don't want to hear you talk about things you think that I need
So don't help me back on my feet again until you can hear me pied
Just look in the holy book of crooks and tell me what you can find
All the rules and regulations made to manipulate your mind
Don't pretend that you're blind, just open your mind and study historical times

The bigger the loss
the bigger the cost
the bigger the cross
and its crimes

I don't believe in god that I need to worship
I don't believe that I need to get down on my knees
I don't believe that voice from above can help me
I only believe in that I can see and the things I can achieve

Whatever belief you belong to there's still always a reason to doubt
And there's always another opinion as to what life is all about
There's always a bigger dimension and a different point of view
So I don't want to try to change you that decision is up to you
Whatever your final choice is and however you chose to live
You better be happy for what you can get and happy with what you can give
There's only one thing to remember there is only one thing you can do
And that is to do unto others as you'd have others do unto you

Two sides two sides to every story
two stories more makes four new ones to chose
Four sides four sides to every story
four stories more makes eight new ones to chose
Eight sides eight sides to every story
eight stories more now which one should you chose
now which one can you use

i saw the kids bit and was quite offiended.

i mean sure, a bunch of fools, singing enough is enough, but i saw.. 8 year olds.. 9 year olds.. hell they probably wouldnt be able to go over to their mates places for *sleep overs* just becaues their fathers are to scared of them becomming ghey...

i agree with most people on here, belive in what you want, just dont force it on me.

i dont understand though... enough is enough?

this is the first of it ive heard... over in the states its been a huge battle, which they recently won.... then the goverment said *whoops, we made a mistake, it didnt count*.

just make it legal, who cares, i mean really? they arnt going to go around blowing you children to peices.... they arnt gonna go around with pamphlets saying *its ok to be ghey* or some bullshit.

any religion is alot worse than letting a few gay people marry......

farking idiots X_X

The way I see it, if God didn't want G.A.Y people on the planet, he/she wouldn't have put them here!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

this has been a bit of a one sided debate so far!
I agree with what Brian Tamaki is saying, but the way he went about it, (and the way he goes about most things) is fully wrong.
Why is everyone here so anti-christian?
Tolerance works both ways

Its not anti-christian to be anti-someone-telling-other-people-how-it-is-ok to-live.

Besides, The Destiny Church aren't your run of the mill Christians are they, they're extremists.

You can't be an extremist and expect a county full of diverse cultures and religions to accept laws which directly reflect your extremist beliefs.

I don't know all the ins and outs of the proposed Civil Unions bill, maybe it doesn't need to be passed, maybe people don't need to have their relationships recognised by law, I actually don't really care!

All that does annoy me is anyone who tries to impose their religion based beliefs on others, and anyone who tells people they are bad or wrong for things that cannot be changed, ie, homosexuality. Those people should not be discriminated against and that's all there is to it.

I was talking to one of my workmates the other day about this (she is a Lesbian AND maori as well, not that that changes my perception of her at all on both fronts), and the only word to describe him is "FAG" (in her words).

She seems to think that behind the facade of his ways, hes actually a closet homosexual but doesnt want to admit it. So he takes it out on a minority that has been struggling for years (decades even) for acceptance and to be treated as equals, not freaks.

Was also reading the Sunday News today, and his own daughter has had a child out of wedlock, and Mr Tamaki himself had his child to his now wife before they got married and converted to christianity. Seems a bit of the old saying "Pot calling the kettle black" dont u think?
