Well put.

Ive seen young kids of the age of 12 or so using txt. Image is the World As We Know It coming to :?:

I own a shitty old Nokia 5120. It does the job. & the g/f has a Siemens (got semens?).

Its a nifty invention and it has been around for years .

Something we probably wont see in a few decades to come.

Personally, I don't abreviate or anything like that in text messages. If I were to type that last sentance into my phone, it would look exactly as it does now :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Have you heard about cars? Amazing contraptions, or do you also believe walking is much better for those 300km trips? How about modern medicine, also another modern gem, no more rubbing flax onto those open flesh wounds...

 Look, I just detest cellphones in every way. I cant for the life of me see the point in them. Maybe I am slowly but surely going batshit insane and losing touch with reality but I would much rather just use my home phone. Normally I dont even use that, if I want to see a mate I just show up at their house.

For my job I NEED a cellphone, or I will be killed by my competition. Apart from which, it's a lot easier to contact mates and see what's up if you have a cellphone.

I dont see the problem here?? Why do people have such a problem with kids using cellphones? It makes it easier for parents to keep in contact, which is SAFE, and it's also getting them prepared for technology, which will be an inevitable part of their generation.

The only problem I have with mobiles is the fact that young kids these days nw spel lyke dis, even in school work :?
And txting is rather antisocial, and has ruined the ability to have a decent conversation.

I have a few 3315's, great wee phones :D Do miss the ol GX30 for its camera though

Affecting their school work? I've not heard anything about it. Is this a fact, or are you just asuming?

I also dont consider it antisocial. The very concept of it IS social. And dont be rediculas, texting will never replace conversation. Perhaps it will replace phone conversationg, but is that such a bad thing? Other than cost wise, of course.

Fact. I have a few friends who are teachers, and whilst its not the norm, its becoming more common.

Of course it is, have you not seen groups of people sitting around txting and not actually talking? I know I dont really follow a conversation well if Im in the middle of writing a txt message.
Where did I say it would replace conversation? I said it is effecting conversations, and thats due to the above example.

I bought a Nokia 3220 before xmas, great little phone and I'm very happy with it.

The lights on the side of it seem to be popular, crack people up all the time.

I've read news articles before of teachers that were receiving homework etc from students that was full of text speak.

Of course, that was over in the US. Anyone else not suprised? :)
