yeah sorry i updated my original post after you replied.
edited .......forgot to mention in my post my ae82 fxgt already has a rollcage in it now. Just was considering more/other options on car choice if the fx turns to custard. repair wise.

if its got a homologated cage..... then your a grand or so up.....

yep, so if it's worth fixing, i'd think so. Yeah i may start another posty somewhere else about progress on the work being undertaken to repair it to it's original state.

A grand is cheap for a homologated cage, i would say more like 1500 but with all the hassel of pulling things out, re-routing them etc to get the cage put in it's probably worth even more.
Also waiting for it to get done then getting it homologated then getting an audit done first event, lot of hassel again if you have one already in.

yikes, some places sure do charge lots for cages!

i can get my chevette caged for $7-800, inc homologation

the rollcage in my fxgt apparently cost $1200 to get put in

of course it depends on the type of cage too....

that quote was for a basic 6 point cage to enter club events

Sorry my bad that is a bit cheaper - the one i was thinking of was 8 point, picking up front and rear struts with seat belt mounting etc - picking up the front struts normally involves moving stuff to get the bars through ie dash and associated bits and pieces.
