This is kinda off the topic of the Poll but:

Did you hear about those new tyres made by Kumho, that when you skid them up produce red smoke? They are trying to get blue smoke ones made too. Cost is about $3000 each i think. Bit more interesting than those 'Scorchers' that were on the market a while ago.

Yea I've heard of those tyres but I've never actually seen a price tag put up next to them.

$&#$% paying that much for a tyre so that you can get coloured smoke... :?

Yea the ricers might go for them as they love spending endless amounts of money on rice for their cars.

They were actually designed for drifters to use on the track, not NZ drifters coz most of us are poor, but teams in Japan and the US.

i think you will get a very small turn out if thats the case.....

dont get me wrong, id love to do a tarmac one. but not when i have to drive the same car back to nelson the next day!

What car are you bringing up? If its just tyres your worried about, then I might be able to loan you a set for the day.

I think its also a case of CV's, diffs etc etc......... If you can lend him all of the above that might break as well as the others that intend to come from Taupo and further south im sure we'll have a fantastic day

If its on Tarmac i wont be doing it either, Are you guys scared i'll win again on grass?

Grass Grass Grass Grasss Grasssss grasssssssss....

There are too many of us that will have to drive a fair distance home again and can't afford to have our car damaged or weakened through a rugged tarmac event!!!

Plus grass is waaaaaay more fun!!! :D

I beg to differ. Have you ever been involved in a motorkhana? They are a hell of allot of fun aswell.

Thinking about it now I would have to say that Grass would be a more viable option as there will be a greater number of people attending the event and actually competing aswell.

If it was me I would probably not want to go on tarmac just in case something went wrong and I would have to drive back to Wellington after the event.

Maybe we should just have it on grass and then organise maybe later in the year just a Motorkhana weekend for those that would like to participate in such an event.

I think the general public will be more for the grass at this point so keep it to the grass.

Not everyone has extra rims and tyres to waste on the tarmac and also people traveling from down south will probably not have much room in their cars to transport extra rims/tyres with their baggage and passengers etc...

I voted grass too, simply for the reason of the long drive back to wellington. Some of us will also be carpooling, so will not have room to bring up things like spare tyres etc.
