Also I think the 300ZX and GTO are a great comparison, both big heavy 3L V6 Twin Turbo POS. :)

lol, alot of people think that. :P Yes they look like a whale.. or even a boat of some sort.

wtf u on about?

viewtopic.php?t=40429&start=20

MR2 Turbo vs Twin Turbo Supra... and the mr2 wins >.> and id have my money up the supra beating the 300...

a "zippy" car would be more the aw... which around the twistys isnt excactly lacking either X_X.

that engine in the back thing... seems to work... i think ferrari got it right for some ODD reason...

Im saying the MR2 obviously is the better handling car.. compared to the z or even the supra. These big 6 cylinders have to much weight to be the best handling cars around especially compared to a mid engined light mr2.

Mmm yeah i agree the engine in the back does seem to work..

GTO = AWD built for amerian roads.

The 300z has a similar suspension setup to the GTR Skyline from memory - Super HICAS.

Thats another point the twin Turbo zed also has 4 wheel steering (super-HICAS) which apparently helps cornering considerably.

The biggest problem anyone with a modified 300z will tell you, is rear wheel traction. My mate Cousin put sand bags in the back of his zed to improve his quarter mile time.

Sure they have a fair amount of weight, but so do Ferarri's, Porsches etc. The zed earned the nick-name 'poor mans ferrari' for a reason.

From memory they were like $80k - $90k brand new in NZ. The 3L V6 is pretty much two engines strapped together. Each bank of cyclinders has its own turbo, exhaust, Inter-Cooler. Sure they may have similar performance, but so does a similar priced motorbike. I reckon your comparing apples and oranges a wee bit.

One of my uncles built up a 300z a few years ago, that had in the region of 4-500hp. (Cant remember exactly, but something around that)

He went out one night and had a few drinks, and called a 'dial a driver'.

Who drove him all of 100m up the road, before apologising, and telling him that he cant drive this car, it is too scary.

Had some fool in a 300ZX TT driving ahead of me on Scenic drive a couple of months back now, thought he'd try and get away. Round the twisties, they don't stand a chance against an MR2. Even an N/A one! His ass was going all over the show! And I was getting bored
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I'd choose the 300ZX any day above an SW20.

I like my whales... 8)

The only thing (which has been stated previously) is that the 300ZX is an absolute C_UNT to work on. There is ZERO room under the bonnet to do Farking anything... :?
