I can rebuild an engine with my and tied behind my back and blindfolded, only using my toes on my left foot.

Ok, so I actually chose 'Engine swapper / Gearbox changer / Clutch fitter'.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I have done a number of engine conversions, custom wiring set ups and rebuilt cars ground up but still not in the league of malcom and matt dunn with fabracating and machining. Respect guys :P

You must be pretty shit then  because my fabrication skills are average to say the least, I mean the most complicated fabrication I've ever done was the little square tubing frame I built for the front of the mr2, and as for machining - I've used lathes, mills etc but only at uni and the most complex things I've done on them was a plumb bob and vee blocks :D

Lol ok so maybe i have done a little bit more fabrication than you 8) they were more "general" skills not aimed at either of you

Hrmm well I've done Engine Swaps, Manual Conversions, Gearbox Changes and all sorts so I guess I'll fall into the 'Engine Swapper' Category.

I can take an Engine apart easily enough but I'd ask for help when it comes to putting all of the little bits back together etc...

I also know how to Install a PHAT POD filter so my rice mobile will beat 20Vs!!

Ummm.... as for me.... I've pretty much done it all. But thats not to say that I know everything about cars, as like all of us, I am still learning.

I've installed several car audio systems ( about 100 or so ) including custom setups, fibreglassing etc.
Ive done a heap of services on various vehicles including changing cambelts, clutches, gearboxes, diffs etc.
I have rebuilt a couple of engines.
I have rebuilt and built suspension for almost every common vehicle on the road, including several custom setups for competition cars.
I have fitted (with the help of a few mates) various engines into various vehicles. Some which include:

Full R32 GTR running gear/engine/tranmission into R32 GTS coupe.
SR20DET into MKII Ford Escort.
2.0L Cosworth Engine into MKI Escort.
302 V8 into S1 RX7.
13B Bridgeport into Mazda 323.

Current Projects in the pipeline:

1UZ into 1998 Ford Courier Ute.
Blacktop 20v 4age into KP60 starlet.

:D
Your Opinion Means 1/16th Of Stuff All To Me So Dont Bother Arguing With Me About It As I Just Dont Care.

Thank-You.

Currently I've only really done up to 'Standard Fitter' , but anything is possible with the right set of tools and the right opportunity.

Probly engine/gearbox fitter/swappery type guy. Changed countless clutches, rebuilt a couple of gearboxes (with the instruction book to help) and pulled the engine in and out of the drag car too many fckin times

Actually prefer working on my own for some jobs - other people get in the way most of the time!

Learning sh*tloads more every day from HAVING to know it - I get asked some very very stupid questions at work

I don't see why I can't do anything to my car. I've rebuilt/changed/installed motors, have done panel work, electrical work, minor fabrication. I'm in the fortunate position of having access to engineering/mechanical assistance, so anything I need that I'm not sure of, I can ask!

I am at the lower end of Engine swapper / Gearbox changer / Clutch fitter...
I've had 7 cars in two years and have done repairs, mods and tuning myself, learning with mates, the internet, books and workshop manuals.
Done a wee bit of bodywork, changed clutches, engine swaps & conversions, head gaskets, turbo rebuild, stripped and put back together a 4age on a bench, custom exhaust, manual gearbox conversion, shocks & springs, brakes etc.
I like to devour information like apple pie, I can spend all day and night on the net reading technical stuff.
Haven't been able to get into the fabrication stuff yet but one day I want to go into my garage and come out with a completely custom built car from the ground up :D
Vvega and BBBrad you are my idols

can do most things myself..have dne and assisted in many engine conversions, wheel alignment, small amounts of fabrication. and general mechanical work.

i try to do most of my work myself..usually involves a few swear words and a pack of ciggies, but i get there.
