I don't see how the noise of an enigne is relevant.

It's just because you've been brought up in an environment surrounded by them. Look how many people said they'd never switch from horses to cars because they were loud and smelly.

I think the zzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeooooooouuuussshh (or something hehe) of an electric car racing by with the accompanied crunching gravel etc would be awesome to hear in a rally.
