Agreed with cahuna etc..
I hate smoking.

But i wouldnt want people to enjoy smoking to have that privilege taken away from them. And it would be pretty sad for a government to regulate something so strongly.

If they were trying to do the same with alcohol id be in uproar!

---

wow im suprised at the level of paying who said yes.
then again, i guess only people who feel strongly about things actually bother completing such polls. and the other people are bored, or office people who are pretending to do customer related shit on their computer, when in fact they are simultaneously browsing trademe and toyspeed.

Very hard to police on people who come into the country from outside - and wind up basically having to quit at customs!

I'd support 'more restricted places'... but you cant ban it entirely.

Whoever said it was a PR stunt is on the money...

Smoking is one of the nastiest things to me. Theres just something about it, when I see or smell someone smoking it makes me feel disgusting. I mean seriously you are throwing money away! You come home smelly, your car stinks and you breath reeks and tastes like crap (I dated a chick that smoked briefly). I did not feel sorry for anyone that moans about having problems due to smoking as if she had enough will power, went to counsilling or used those patches or gum she wouldve been fine. I may be wrong but my opinion against smoking is that I HATE it. Rant over :D

While we are at it, why don't we just ban Alcohol too, the deaths caused by drink driving and alcoholism are in the greater numbers, in fact, why don't we put a bann on cars, people drive them too fast and get killed along with emissions killing the ozone layer and enviroment

Cellphones have to go, they cause brain cancer and give teens the thumb joints of an 80 year old, let's not forget fast food, as it is terribly bad for you and makes you obese

Sex - thats out the window, too many people getting FULL BLOWN AIDS around the place, and unwanted babies cost the tax payer big dollars

In fact, why don't we just get rid of everything that is not %100 safe and healthy?

Well?

Haha... anyone think of "Demolition Man" when they read this? Great movie... mindless violince rocks!

(oh...and im pro-choice, most of the people i know respect that I don't, and don't do it around me)

Hmm well maybe I do now disagree with the idea of banning smoking out right. I guess it was just the fact that I find it to be very disgusting. But I suppose that it is a huge source of revenue for the government. And Yes it is your choice to slowly kill youself and waste huge amounts of money at the same time. As long as your not smoking for anyone else apart from youself its ok I guess.

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Personally, I hate smoking. I'm glad you're not allowed to smoke inside at work/bars so I don't have to smell that crap or come home with stinky smoke covered clothes but what people do outside/in the privacy of their own homes is entirely their own business. You ban smoking, it'll only make a black market like anything else that's illegal then safety/quality standards go out the window and the government makes no tax off it to pay for the health care smokers need and I don't want to be footing the bill for people with stupid habits.
