Labour will NEVER win an election again until a tidal wave washes across their benches and gets rid of all the walking dead that sits there now (ie Goff, Mallard, Cosgrove, Ruth Dyson etc). They would also do well to remember their roots and realise that they are a party which was founded to represent the blue-collar workforce, rather than the bohemian urban deadwood, lifetime beneficiaries, queers, and solo mothers of 6 on the DPB.

It's really a pity that Labour's become such a circus, a strong opposition is essential in a proper democracy.

Couldn't have summed it up better. Labour seems DOA this election. All they've got is mediocrity and personal attacks.

This is true, the government shouldn't be contributing anything, however the current government is still an over spending, over taxing behemoth like the last one. Only the colour of the cabinet door has changed.

ACT will do very well out of this next election, I don't particularly like Brash (I'd much prefer Stephen Franks to be leader) but their core policies and libertarianism will probably pull a lot of the disillusioned National voters who were let down by Key not dismantling big government. National kept all the Labour policies they attacked for nine years AND implemented a useless ETS scheme that they were against when they were in opposition.

I liked Key's move to involve the Maori party, not because I approve of the seperatist policies that a lot of them push, but I think is was a clever move to build a bridge.

I do feel that not enough has been done to do the things you mention above.

I see where your coming from with building the bridge and i guess thats how people will perceive it but we have to remember the maori party doesnt represent all maori.
the thing i hate sorry dislike about the the maori party apart from only its very existence being a form of racism (my opinion) is they have no principles they would go into a coalition with hitler if it ment they were in power and could push 1 bill through.I would be all for national not going into coalition with the maori party however this will not be an option.john key will push his centralist government with his watered down legislation that will achieve nothing for another round but with a bit of luck act with steal more national voters.

labour... well do i need to say more. i used to be a pretty solid supporter, but someone said it right about the people they are currently appealing to.

im probably going to vote national because at least john key comes across as somewhat competent. how the hell phil goff got to where he is is an absolute mystery to me.
