Just gotta load it it up - plenty throttle around peak torque - I wouldn't be redlining it but def plenty of load, and as above, don't be shy with the engine braking. I usually go up the motorway when its quiet in 3rd and accelerate from 60-100kmh and engine brake back down a dozen times or so
This
Peak torque gives max cylinder pressure = max force pushing rings out to contact cylinder wall to wear the peaks off the crosshatch pattern
Engine braking helps to suck oil past the rings to lubricate, cool everything down a bit and help wash any metal away
Biggest threat is heat as extra friction in the first minutes of the run in could overheat things
So avoid max revs, 80% is fine for the first 20 mins of driving
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
