skipped a couple of posts cause they were so long so sorry if i repeat anything, i'm going national, partly cause it looks like they're going to screw the defence force over the least (i'm a navy boy) and mainly cause they're the one's who seem to be looking after drivers the most, they want to bring in the frontal impact standard as a gradual thing, not sure if they're too late now and they're not pushing for the hardcore sentencing for small driving misdemeanours that others are, labour can suck my white butt, screwed the air force, didn't do the navy much good and gave the army more apc's than they know what to do with, too bad we'll have to ask for overseas help to transport them.

Vote United!

Postby d3nial » Thu Jul 11, 2002 11:45 am

you missed United Future on your list - I'll vote for them just cos I have no confidence in any of the "major" parties - plus the party co-leader, Anthony Walton, is a good guy.

vote for cars

Postby BlackMR2 » Fri Jul 12, 2002 11:20 am

I was reading NZPC last night, and they suggested to vote for either
national or act, as they are the only party's who are not going, to restrict
car importing, modification or hike petrol tax, greens want to put gas up a dollar!!!!!!
so vote for the freedom to do whatever the hell you like to your car
without having big brother decide that no you cant have a fast car.
or even an old school jappa for that matter

hey that rhymes
live fast, die sideways.

ACT

Postby Audi » Sat Jul 13, 2002 7:28 pm

I'm voting for ACT. What I can't believe though is how many people voted for Labour last time and from the looks of polls how many people will vote for them this time! How stupid are they!

Well New Zealanders in general are not very intelligent people, compared to the rest of the world are they?

in the local hamilton paper was an insert from act and what they wanna do for the country, voilence is the biggest thing, a couple of years back there was a vote for harsher sentences - 97% voted for harsher penalties, labour did the opposite and past legislation that allows crims to only sit a 3rd of there original sentence. If u decide to shoot someone, your gonna get a sentence so you might as well take out a couple more people coz you know what? you'll still do the same sentence.

ACT

wanna make life mean life. and make a criminal accountable for EVERYTHNG he does, so if he kills five ppl, he gets 5 times more
sentencing than if he killed 1. Its a known fact that parole doesnt
work - 70% of paroled criminals reoffend within 2 years.

they wanna put an end to benefit dependancy as a lifestyle choice (i really like that one! then there'll be more tax for other things!).

even ensure that low-income working families are not worse off than beneficiaries.

they wan to get rid of this idea that maori trusts and communities get a lower tax rate than others. (how racist is that?)

not to mention decreasing income tax - which in theory will give us all more money wich we spend and then the government gets more in GST.

anyway, ACT seem the most sensible - becuase ultimately we as car enthusiasts need to either vote for ACT or national. why not vote for the most promising one! (ACT!)

Did anyone watch the Holmes debate the other night?

Ain't Winston a joker :D He is good for a laugh, wouldn't want him to run the country though...
