You know what - you're absolutely right.
And I voted incorrectly on this poll too.
It does bring to light some interesting misunderstandings, doesnt it??
My point stands however that in most cases the road should be marked up with a giveway out of the side road.
What also makes it interesting is that in almost all situations I experience on the road, the yellow car puts their vehicle in the path of the blue car whilst waiting for clear road. This would be correct _where the road is marked with a give way or stop sign_. I wonder how many people do it when the road is not so marked?

If this thread serves to bring to peoples attention how easy it is to get this one wrong, then good stuff to snwtoy for posting it.
PS: It is actually explicitly stated in my copy of the Road Code for Heavy Vehicle Drivers (being the most recent Road Code issue I have) - that the statement 'give way to right turners on your right' is always followed, and even shows a picture of this exact example.
