Almost blocked him off. But the rex driver decided to go offroad :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

mate he had no chance
had he of attually grip raced he might have had a chance of holding him out
but simply put he desided to drift and payed the penalty
drift is not fast its art

the fact that the guy driving the rex has more racing taltent in his little finger might had something to do with it

Didn't Justin say that he didn't really decide to drift that last corner, his shitty tyres lost their grip?

oh please he was drifting on the way onto the corner
cant see how he held out for that long doing so well then
OMFG my tyres, they let go sideways on the end of the straight
most likely that 400 hp ct26 under the hood was to much for him :D

No way dude! He went into the corner, then about 2/3rds of the way in, it started to power oversteer! I just went back and had another look :P

But I do agree with you. That guy in the Rex has a lot under belt. He gets a blistering time of 40.91 seconds (Better than anyone else on the day by miles and the record is ~38 seconds). When asked if he was happy with that time, he said "No.", then said that it wasn't correctly setup for the track suspension-wise.
Not only that, but just watching his driving from third person and onboard camera. Takes a special talent to control a huge HP track car and use its full potential like that.

Whoa, didn't mean to start a ruckus, lol, was just a comment.

It was a comment on a drift driver being able to handle oversteer better than understeer in a grip race.

He 'handled' it, although he was still all over the place, a little dangerously, lol.

and you think you could get in it and have evena shit show or driving near its limit ...even halfway

ross rutherford is a talented driver and you can see the focus as he passes on the final corner a guy that ethier out of control of whatever
that takes commint as you risk your own saftey and that of your very expensive race car

id like to see anyone here do that with a $250k plus car that they then have to fix afterwards

remeber how far laps he started behind them
remeber how consistantly he would have to do fast laps
remeber the pressure that comes with that

its a comon falicy that hp wins races
that was a handicap race so hp had nothing to do with it at all

just my 2 cents

that wrx looked pretty loose tho , i wouldnt wanna try tame it.and taupo is a pretty twisty circuit as it is , it can be hard to use extreme power there, ive seen well set up smaller cars embarrass some pretty impressive highpowered whales there 8O

yeap taupo is a skill/handling track.

a 700hp car is a handful there, even a 4wd one

vvega is right. Any schmuck can have a 700hp car as long as they've got the money to back it. Using its full potential is another thing.
Not forgetting that 700hp in a 2 litre engine (Even if it were stroked to 2.2l) would have a narrow powerband, meaning there would be a lot of chopping the gears up and down. Getting your timing right for that before corners would be incredibly fine.

Not ONLY that, but he has the balls to change from tarmac to grass right after a corner without even thinking about it!

"I like you. You have big balls."
