Another OCD sufferer here... stupid things like avoiding stepping on cracks (or if I step on a crack with the left foot then having to do so with the right foot too). Yep, sounds completely dumb but I can't help myself

I also had some bad nervous tics when I was at school, probably stress-related from getting bullied by the other kids, luckily I'm generally able to control them nowadays.
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

I USED to be like that. Like, if I accidentally grazed my right arm against, something, I had to do it with the left as well, to balance things out.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Ive never been told i "have" a mental illness but i bet if i went through what ever the doctors do to see if you do, i would have somthing. As well as many other people that dont think they have a mental illness. I think it would be more 1 in 4 or even 3. Some people are just in denial

I quite often get in my car, then wonder if I shut all the windows, so go back inside to check. Hop back in car and wonder if I locked the door .. so have to check again.

Another thing is checking that my alarm clock is set .. I do it at least three times - every night :S

Other things that are possibly more about me liking everything to be in order than OCD - such as no wrinkles in the duvet after making the bed.. window wipers having to be down properly... coffee/tea tins facing the right way and on the same angle.

I am only a little different

Im the same. I hate when things arn't lined up properly, and it freaks some people out when i start facing up stuff at their house. I can also only eat two m&ms at once...don't quite know why though

It's called being a perfectionist. Hardly a mental Ilness.
And the M&M thing....well that's just weird. Yet again no mental Ilness there.

Hmm come to think of it, ill often sit there, and close of my eyes and line something up using perspective so its the exact same size as a larger object in the distance. Mainly with horizontal blinds etc. :o

Avoidant Personality Disorder:
Avoidant Personality Disorder is where a person has an extreme fear of being judged negatively by other people, and suffers from a high level of social discomfort as a result.

i guess we could all argue about mental illness till the cows come home... everyone does wierd little things... like me, i jump onto my bed when i turn off the light incase somethings going to grab my feet  and turn all the lights on when i have to get up in the dark  it doesnt mean i have ocd though. everyone has different understandings of what exactly a "mental illness" is, isn't it generally a physical disturbance (eg. chemical imbalance etc) that affects the brain? thats what my doc told me anyways!
