I say Tomato, you say Tomat

Besides, with all the protesting going on and the rediculous comments I keep hearing, it's almost like the capitalist world wants to change to communism.

People think it is black and white.
There is a good middle ground, eg Scandinavian countries.
Good education and health care, with high tax rates, without prohibition of capitalists practices. How are high taxes is a good thing you may ask? High taxes shows stability of the economy, and they pay for your retirement and infrastructure (providing that government is there to do its job and not like in US).

Anyway....

After watching James Mays Manlab I decided he is the most manly in the above list.
He defused a bomb! Made kitchen parts from concrete! Has a motorbike for lounge decoration and a train to deliver stuff around the house. How can you get any more manly than that?

His show is very 'showy', it has a formulae and is faked in some ways... but he still did some awesome things. Like Everest as a 23y/o, 18months after Dr's said he wasn't likely to be able to walk again.

British SAS I hear is not a walk in the park either.

A person who can pretend to drink and wear his own piss on the head, with a straight face, and sell it as "documentary" is a douche.
Or running away from bear suited man...

David Attenborough on other hand is the man.
Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan, etc are what men should be like.

Read the back of his biography the other day, apparently he even has a black belt. Trained with some dude in Japan, most likely to have been Mr Miyagi I reckon.

What about the faked 'wild' horse?

If you watch the later series' it has a disclaimer saying that 'sometimes' situations are created in order to show what can be done. Where 'what can be done' = the best for ratings. i.e. jump off it, kill and eat it, or eat poos.

Also there was even a behind the scene's episode showing how they set up shots, how the safety guy hides ropes/rigging etc.

Survivor man is a less showy version. Dude pretty much gave up doing it after a while because he got sick of carrying all the camera gear, setting up a shot, walking allong then coming back for the gear.

It's called entertainment, not something i'd expect everyone to understand but yuh. If I had Sky tv / the patience to watch 50% ads / show, then i'd watch it all the time. If it was serious business all the time he probably would have been killed doing something a long time ago.

Hey did you check out the doco David did with polar bears? You know the one he 'faked' scenes from a zoo and portrayed it as being in the wild? Oh shi....

A bit OT now... but anyone go and see Heath Franklins show recently? He does a good Bear Grylls. Clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDWkhbvWwLo those that went to the show would have seen a whooooooole lot more

Moaning about Man vs Wild is like complaining about Top Gear not being a serious car show
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!
