Totally depends on the car and what you do with it. Both have their merits and downsides. I own both.I guess than I dont care :)

I have only ever owned a FWD with very low power. All my high power cars have been RWD, only owned 1 4WD.

Cant say i know what i prefer, never had a real chance to test out what they can do ;)

fwd with decent power is pretty crazy. Rwd still be more fun IMHO

Looks like front wheel drive is not overly popular...

Come on people, there is so much fun in going round a corner, putting your foot down, turning the wheel, and having the car continue without turning...

Even though I have a st171, I also have the st185, therefore... I believe that my choices would be 4wd or Rwd because Fwd is for grandma driving shopping trolleys

I cant quite figure out why some people have actually voted fwd?!?! I dont mind FWD for general driving, and they can even be quite fun on a track...but rwd is still better. Meh, whatever, I'm sure someone will flame me and tell me why their 'phat bo fwd is betta au'

You are quite right there DrX, for once I fully agree with you. Fwd has its place which is usually on the road and are great for learners.

Oh and I think you've just gotten too used to being flamed

cozmos got interesting theories on fwd and its superiority, why dont you share with us cozmo?

depends on the purpose, the driver, and whatever else

tom thumb in his evo wouldnt stand a chance against a propper fwd driver >.>

on a drag strip maybe, but thats all >.> anything that involes skill its all driver

but of course, macabre is the bestest driver ev0rzor!

and with a good suspension setup, weight distribution, and alike, a fwd can be VERY good handeling :P.

but meh, as said earlier, ignornace is bliss, im gonna get someone going OMGOSH NO, 4WD IS BESTEST. yeh... its always the best >.> righteo

RWD of course 8)

our old FWD GT starlet race car (RIP :P ) handled absoludely awesome and was really fun to drive because of that
and very few cars can compare with the grip of a 4WD
but who needs grip? its over rated :P

I've only driven 1 type of rwd hard, a go-kart :) it's fun, but I find drifting my fwd much more challenging. It's hard to get right.
I think everyone should have both cos they're both very different to drive.
4wd is boring unless you have *lots* of power.

well yea the best fun ive had in my cars was my 1.3ltr fwd corolla.

What to do:

Find a big concrete pad and reverse your back wheels onto 2 plastic trays (eg: mcdonalds trays) Pull the hand brake up and just drive in circles.

It is exactly like driving a RWD car on ice   too much fun.
