Holden vs Ford

Postby V8MOFO » Thu Jan 13, 2005 12:55 pm

What is your preference people.

The new generation of ford and holden are out and they are pretty damn hot.

Personally i think the holdens looks have gone through the roof. :D
Anger is seldom without argument but seldom with a good one.

I'm not that fond of either, it's more the person driving when it comes to Bathurst etc.

Like the xr6t though.

From what i hear the XR6 Turbos are faster than the XR8s so Ford had to put a speed limiter on them so the XR8 hoons would still think they are better. I mean if youre gonna pay an extra 10K for a XR8 you'll wanna be faster. But the speed limiter can be dealt with with a simple computer upgrade i think.
As much as I dont like fords thou I am very fond of the XR6 Turbo.
Going from my GSR to a straight 6 535i BMW I really do missed forced induction.
Go the turbo!!!
Drinking 42 BELOW Passionfruit Vodka is like walking along the street and seeing this really hot girl and all you can think is "Man, I don't understand how anyone can be gay".

They produce more power than the 8, but if they told everyone that, then no-one would buy the 8, so they factory 'rate' them lower.

There is an first series BA XR6 Turbo in Aussie, running a link, bigger cooler, and on drag slicks is pulling 10's in full street trim. They aren't allowed to go faster without a cage, and its his family car so he doesn't want to put a cage in it.

The stock gt35/40 in the 2005 fpv f6 typhoon runs only 0.64 bar which is way under it's efficiency mark.

for v8's, I'd take the fpv gt pver the hsv clubsport. They look nicer and have half a litre smaller capacity but have twice the ammount of valves :)

The torque loses its edge when you see how much heavier the car is.....

Should you put F6 Typhoon up there? Produces more torque than ANY australian built car in history.

Of course, there's always the fact that Summernats 2004 Grand Champion was a tie between Gary Myers Silver Bullet twin supercharged muzzie, and Dave Ritches AMAZING green XP Falcon 8)

hahah that twin supercharger is all BULL$HIT!!
there is no way that set up is any better than a single setup, well single will be better as there is LESS WEIGHT!!!

you can not run dual SC in that configuration feeding all 8 cylinders. they will both be running the same boost levels so its pointless running the same boost into another SC thats only pulling the SAME boost levels :? only there for looks.

and you ppl do know the new holdens are going with the new LS-2 :D:D
6ltrs!!
would own both but more inclined to buy holden first.
and wait for the SV6T ;) that will give the XR6T a run for its money ;)
1995 ducati 900ss with a 2001 fuel injected motor, ramflow intake, open pipes, polished wheels and afew other mods.
more to come ;)

1983 RX7 series 2 with small block chevy.

How much does the second supercharger add to the weight?
Just cut out that much of the body and replace it with carbon.

It's a showcar that also happens to haul serious ass. Gary Myers is no amatuer, mate, and I would suspect he knows what he's doing a little better than you. It did, after all, win Supernats Grand Champion, which is a title not to be scoffed at.
