yeah i've been thinking about this a lot lately and i just cant decide which for my trueno ae86.
Basically:
Supercharger: instant boost with no lag, but loses power in high revs and has probs with high psi level (different pulley) like belt slip.....
Turbocharger: lag, lag, LAG! but good all the way to redline, higher psi possible, more complicated to set up than standard 4agze with super...

I go for the turbo. No particular reason, i just like them better.
I know that doesn't help you at all but hey.

Well all depends what ya want the car for.
if its all out power than turbo all the way but if ya after something with smoother power delivery s/c may be the go. Like I said depends on what you intend to do with the car.
With the s/c that hi rev drop in power is really noticeable, and bloody annoying.
I reckon the turbo is heaps better (well for what I want it for) and the lag is pretty minimal, sure its there but not that bad eh.
IMHO - TURBO all the way

If I had the option of either a turbocharger running a small amount of boost or a supercharger for the 20v I'd have to choose the turbocharger (ignoring issues that may arise using stock internals of course)

If you get the correct type of turbo to match your engine [the hardest thing to do I beleive] then lag is really nothing more than a myth.....
No more than an NA car would be "lagged" anyway.

Definately turbo. With a bit of fidling around with a (g)t-25 you could get it boosting really early. Kiss goodbye to the supercharged cars pretty much everywhere.
THEY SHOULD

I'm more than happy with my supercharger. It's like a fighter plane without the wings !! Must have bloody supersonic slugs down your way

Turbo all the way, more efficient, more potential. If your that worried bout lag, chuck in some NOS to speed things up at lower RPM..personally I kinda like the feel of a bit of lag followed by a sharp kick in the back. Jus my opinion tho.

Okay what happened to the twin charger option??
Well, I had to go for extreme boost and therefore extreme kW. Therefore turbo...
But personally (cost aside) I'd rather have a real MAD twincharger setup. Then add some NOS and NitroMethane fuel for extra fun...
Water/methanol injection...

super charges most deffintley. i drive turbo's all day every day and when u hit a big hill da revs drop forcing u to change down gears even with 630hp. but with the super charger it loves the hills no matter the revs. let the revs drop it keeps boosting.
