Forgot about the mazdas.

Basically low-riders are just cars that been lowered, have had the bodies modified.

I dont think i want to have a bouncing car, it would be good to look at my misses tho. it could cause an accident.

You cant honestly tell me you dont like low-riders.
Sure american cars do it so much better, but a slammed to the deck japanese car on 13inch crome mini-lites, with all of 3 cm road clearence and air-bag suspesnion would not be sweet.
It would need to be a coupe and have tinted glass to make the look work.

Kinda like the Buick Grand National Turbo. Thoose things look sweet.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 788152.htm Way, way overpriced but very stylish. It'd make a good project if you could get it for $500.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 537506.htm Also much too dear, but at least its roadworthy.

Personally, I don't think any of the cars in the poll would make good lowriders. I reckon it's gotta be a big old behemouth of a car with plenty of class.

True Dat!
$6g for a crown thats a bit off!
what does he think it is covered in gold?

i was thinking the 1983-1987 camary lowered to about 40mm off the ground, nice sweet 13inch mini-lites with wheel spaces to push the back ones out. a nice black paint job and dark tinted windows.

Engine wise a 3tgtue or a v6 of some sort all cromed out.

what others do you think?

Early 90's Nissan Infinity or Toyota Celsior, some the bigger japanese cars would make awesome lowriders, if you could get your hands on one!

Big wide bodykit, super deep dish fats, why dont we see more of this jappa style here?

Amen. You might as well drive round in a big neon sign on wheels that says 'Penis Issues Inside!'

Heh. I've had this argument many a time before...

Having audio gear in the car makes the drive more enjoyable for the majority of people. There may be the odd motorhead who only needs the dulcet sound of their engine having the shit rung out of it, but most people like some music in their car. For me, the car is the only place i get some decent time to enjoy my music, i'm too busy at home. It increases the fun of the drive.

But what does lowering a car to high hell do? It doesnt make the ride any more enjoyable, it just makes the car a right shitepile to actually try and drive around. You might find the prospect of having to slow down to 5kph to get over anything larger than a small pebble something enjoyable, but it would piss most people off in an instant. Besides, it looks ludicrous. Its a pointless process with no pros and many cons, done entirely just to appeal to people as shallow as the car owner... simple things amuse simple minds i guess :)

I'm not dissing people who lower their cars a bit for performance, thats cool... i just have low opinions of people who sack their cars to within an inch of its life : it makes the car a P.I.T.A to drive, and looks moronic.

which u could say the same for sumone whos puts to many bloody subs all thru their car and then cant drive around with it on without blowin their eardrums or standing outside it , turning it on and thinkin that they r kewl .

Its down to wot people enjoy doinin wit their money , lowriding , racing , soundoffs wotever , each too there own 8)

Blah blah...

Lowering your car slightly is beneficial, as you state, much like a very mild audio system.

Lowering your car to 10mm off the ground, is pretty much the same as a massive system consisting of thousands of dollars worth of pointless brand-name audio equipment, so I guess you really are what you hate...

Think about it, a set of components, a decent head-unit, and maybe a sub is all you need, much like a slight lowering job.

Sooo, therefore anything more than a system like that is there for the same reason as the car is sitting 10mm off the ground, as you put it, "Penis issues inside"...
