Just after some thoughts on which car to buy. I was all go for the caldina, but then saw an altezza that was in my price bracket too.

Well, IMO the altezza is the better looking car.

But disturbingly enough, I would pick the wagon for performance.

Although the beams motor is quite grunty for a 2 litre NA, its not enough to motivate the heavy(ish) Altezza IMO.

Whereas the 3sgte powered GTT.

Just dont go crazy with the boost though! 8O

Hmm... I think I'd pick the Altezza.

Sure, the Caldina WILL have more power, but they weren't built to be in the same performance handling bracket that the Altezza is in.
I think an Altezza would be much more fun to drive.

RWD is clearly where its at. After a while you could slot in some 3sgte internals, source a turbo and intercooler,st165 injectors, power fc, get some manifolds and piping made up and have a turbo altezza 8)

my mums old car was a GT-T and the new one is an altezza wagon 3.0 (both triptronic :( )
the caldina is way faster and i'd say better handling
the altezza is just a crusier really, not bad for an n/a but i need boost
i'd have the altezza for looks, but its also worth quite a bit more mainly because its newer
oh the the altezza triptronic is terrible, can only change between 3rd and 4th... useless as a regular auto. caldina triptronic is pretty good

The altezza is ment to be one of the best balanced cars you can purchase at the moment...

id go altezza myself...

depends on what you want though, want a fast car? or a great handeling car?

The Altezza does it for me.. never been a too big a fan of wagons, unless you actually needed one for a sepcific purpose.

thanks for the opinions, i've gone for the altezza over the caldina, thought about it, and i didnt need a wagon, and the tezza is still quick enough. Also insurance wise I am not being slaughtered....... as much 8O

Id probably take the GTT, unless you planned on working the altezza. i do think the tezz is more sexy however..

and that bonnet scoop on the gtt is soooo bad.. !
