Isn't it about time?

I hope i'm not alone in thinking this... but it's about time that we as a community, not just TS, but all 'car enthusiasts', start making a voice heard?

If people really believe there is discrimination and unfairness in the current government and law enforcement system, then why not oppose it? Other groups have for years in NZ, why not us?

Be honest with this, who would want to put a bit of serious time into this?

Guru you of all people should have been reading what i have been doing over the past 3 months.
I am currently working on this issue within the wellington region, there are 3 of us within the group so far and we have full support from the police and council. we are to meet up with them next month to talk about the big picture and what can be done about it, also with trying to seperate the actual hoons from the tru enthusiasts, so far we have achieved so much ad there is so much more to happen, it will happen in time.
its taken alot of hard work from all 3 of us and we are happy with whats been achieved so far.

There will hopefully be some more happening within the next month within the wellington region just sit tight and be patient with us :)

err easy, pull over/harass people who are actually breaking the law/causing havoc on the street.

i just cant understand why cruising in your car is such an evil/dangerous thing.
anyone else been told to go straight home by the cops because they are having a drive at night...if you pay all your road taxes you should be allowed to drive as much as you want.

the more they crackdown on people cruising in their cars, the more people will stop that and go out boozing instead and causing a much worse rarkis.

Aaron, If you want to make a "difference" i suggest you start by getting supporting those who are making movements (like speedsterchick & co) instead of starting your own "movement" and trying to re-invent the wheel.

Currently, the most effective way of "opposing" will be via the up and coming elections to choose the new government. So do some research and make your vote count.

My solution to the whole ordeal is simple, if you dont want to be grouped with the idiots, dont go where the idiots go, or do the stuff the idiots do - drive a car daily that fits well within the laws of the road.

And for your thrills, go join a motorsport nz affiliated club, and get a car that suits that scene, and go have some fun in a controlled safe environment, where there isnt a minority to spoil it for you.

I'm not trying to start my own movement sorry, I wasn't aware that there are things being done about it.. it's great that people are working with the police and the council to have things going well.

What I was interested in is making the public more aware of the difference, I'm sure that the council's and police know that the minority are the idiots that cause the trouble, or atleast some of them, but the general public are the ones that every day loook upon everyone as a 'boy racer' group.

Been talking to a few people, and heard something about 'Titan Motorsport' doing a stand last year to raise public awarness or something... anyone know anything more about that?

If you feel you are affected by this shit then arn't you the one with the problem?

I personally dont care about any of it. If they want to brand people with nice cars/pieces of shit, as boyracers so be it.

There are always going to be dickheads who $&#$% it up for others, no matter what the subject is. Thats just the way things are.

Instead of trying to "fight the man", act responsibly (if thats your bag) and mabey others will follow suite.

Chances are though, they wont.

I probabley should've been more specific on things, aaah being sick does play with your mind :)

And yes, I didn't think this applied to me.. but after being accused of being a 'murderer' and that i 'shouldn't be behind the wheel', purely because of my age (These comments as I am driving through my suburb), I thought something could be done.

Anyways, seems like most people reckon it's a stupid idea, so I will end it now before i get drawn more into a pointless debate. Lock and/or delete as you see fit please mods.

Forums are for putting ideas foward. People don't often share the exact same idea.

Im not sure why people would abuse you for driving normally?
Ive only ever upset people if I was doing somthing stupid (shock horror).
