Do you hate Christmas?

Postby RomanV » Tue Nov 29, 2005 4:20 pm

I sure do.
Thought it might be an interesting poll topic, as there seems to be a few fellow haters in the OT thread. :)

Christmas is about spending time with your family.

When your family doesnt talk to each other, and are scattered all across AKL, and you are obliged to visit them all, christmas is a big PITA and you spend half of your day in traffic.

Blah.... I'm just in it for the presents, which are usually crap when you get older, and the copeous amounts of alcohol that is drunk all day at my house. We used to get pissed on my grandma's rum xmas cake, but she's dead now, so a 40oz of Jim Beam will have to replace it this year.

meh, I'm neutral. It is placed at the best time of the year. 2 weeks holiday ( for most people ), new years. Middle of summer. In-between school years etc etc.

It means it is holiday time, which is a good thing, and lots of Christmas parties to attend  The downside is too much festive cheer (why the hell do they start advertising Christmas right back in October??? ) and insanely busy shopping centres - a shame when our offices are in the middle of one!

Personally I usually quite enjoy the day itself as I just chill with each side of the family, get pestered by the young cousins etc etc. This year looks tricky though as my fathers side of the family organised 2 months ago to do a Christmas dinner and my mother has just decided to do a dinner too just to make my sister and I play favourites... family politics suck big time :(
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Christmas isn't really a big thing for me. Its time off work in the summer :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Its OK if you wanna lap the mains  Plenty of people around. I dont bother lapping though cos I get frustrated at the slow traffic.

no christmas is great, it means i get a month away from the muthafuckin, peice of shit, cum guzzling, cock juggling, c**t face, dont give a shit about its soldiers, no lube anal fisting army (sorry i have alot of pent up anger and authority issues) and get to see all of my family, drink all my dads free alcohol, and to top it off i spend it all at lake benmore away from all of the bulshit that is city life with hot chizzys in bikinis and other almost x rated clothing articles and did i mention the free piss

now what could be better than that

oh and i almost forgot about the presents
i want a turbo, why not 2... new car
1993 mitsubishi galant vr4 TT

I'm half and half...

I hate how Christmas is so commercial (like most "holidays" these days, it's completely lost what meaning it ever had), but I'm not one to slag the great day of presents-gorge-sleep-gorge-sleep :) Trifle and pavlova are always the best in December
Dugtrio used Earthquake. It's super effective.

I hate working during the christmas period!!! ULTRA buzy, angry customers.
On the up side, drinking, eating and opening presents is a bonus

I hate christmas, I always end up poor and having to work christmas day! (Altho this year I finally get a day off!!)
Its too much stress having to find presents for people as well as fighting the queues at the shops!

As for christmas dinner, its usually Denny's for me!

Food and alcohol? I thought that would be the preference?

Nah, if it was a choice between 2 big steaks, or 1 big steak and beer, I'd take 2 big steaks...
