190E's.... The Sh*t, or just plain Sh*t?

Postby RomanV » Tue Jan 31, 2006 3:32 pm

What is it with these?
They look horrible in my opinion, yet every homeboy and his dawg seems to want one, presumably so they can say that they drive a merc.

If it was labelled as a Volkswagon, or something else, I bet noone would want them at all.

I give them two thumbs down.

Yeh theyre arse, cheap as, but owners still think theyre bad rollin with lorenzo in the benzo. They drive horribly and look disgusting and dated interior wise.

Poor mans excuse for a pimp mobile.

Edit: Cosworths are wicked and the racing versions are cool, but 16 y/o's with thier hats on the 45 and thier pant 3 1/2 sizes too big in thier cut spring on chromes 190e isnt.

I voted shit. they're terrible looking, mechanically pretty ham, parts are expensive as $&#$%, and homos get them and bag them/cut springs, whatever.

2.6 cosworth ones are kinda cool tho.

Most of them are shit, but the 2.5l Cosworth powered ones don't go too bad.

I dont doubt that the performance variety goes alright...

But it would suck to be the owner of one these days I think.

"What do you drive?"

"A 190E"

"Oh, one of those."

They remind me of the porsche 944...

"Yeah, Ive got a porsche. 8)"

"Badass! A 911?"

"Nah, its a 944"

"oh."

But 944's generally havent been overwhelmed with crome and cut suspension, And I would imagine that they still go alright.

Heh the only reason the Cosworth one exists is possibly because they were so damn slow

They seem to demand a few $$$ still though :?

I remember walking to high school past one most days, it was a nz new 87 model 190e with a manual box, when I left high school in '97 it was for sale for around $8k. Prices haven't dropped down much since then :?

Were the 2.6l ones Cosworth as well, I know the earlier 2.3l and the 2.5l and 2.5l Evo I & II were, but I thought the 2.6s were branded "Sportline" not Cosworth :?

They are a 'nothing car'. Dont know why people waste their fricken time with them -

A, they look so boring and so what if you can put some fancy, two thousand dollar wheels on it, it will still look crap - this is primarily due to the wierd type of people that own them, they ruin the whole image of the car.

B - Some sound like a diesel even though they are petrol

C - Every one that buys one is an idiot and has no idea about choosing a 'cool' car

The good 190E:

The rest are just blasé.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
