imo a 1jz would ruin the handling and balance of a 86

Im sure most of you have seen the video of the 20b 86. That thing is silly fast. Id rock a 20b if i was doing a rota swap

Is that the one where they accelerate at about 100 kmh and it wheel spins for a few hundred metres? That video rocks 8)

In New Zealand its a bad idea, because the majority of New Zealands rotarys are built for noise, cost $200 to build with second hand parts and thier cousins mates boyfriend ported it with a die grinder. If this is why hes doing it, and im geuss he is from the style of your thread and how you spelt 'rota'.

Over seas they build rotarys properly, there are rouglhy 4213423 aussie street rotarys running 10's and below.

What im getting at is if he wants a SHIT load of power (i.e more than can be made from an A or S series motor comfortably) and wants to keep the engine compact and small with no chopped firewall etc. then by all means...

If he wants a 'rota' cos 'rotas' are cool then tell him to get a DX.

I hate cross branding. and as jebus stated, nz c**ts rarely wnt to put a rotary in a car for any inherent pluses of that engine over something else.
4age turbo, 3sge or similar is a much better option IMO, a '13b drill port' done for looks and shit is a stupid idea.

bad decisions = this dude

Man that article of the C&Y Sports AE85 must be pretty old!

More recently that thing's cut 9's on street tyres, has carbon bits all over it, big flares on the back to accomodate wider tyres and so on.....

13B turbo AE86 is a nice thought though, to keep it on topic.

i see were you are coming from..
he isnt doing it for power ats is a stock standard 12a turbo without a turbo.
taking out a 3au and replaceing it with a good running 12a

that hasnt been touch by some dumb hick $&#$%

i started the thread because he has had a bitch of a job with making a firewall, trans tunnel... When he started i told him to go 4age it would be easier he argued withme so im trying to prove a point.

you just read to deeply into a misspelt word.

haha 12a turbo running as carby. gay. low comp and stock = slower than a stock 4age bluetop. 12a stock are about the same power as a bluetop, if not a little less when talking the s1 rx7 ones (emmisions control crap killed the output a little)
and he's having to mod the crap out of the firewall and tunnel? shit. gutted for him, he could have had a much better setup, bolt in, for cheaper.

needs to be an F20C option.

THat'd be my pick. Keeps with the whole high revving n/a that the ae86 is all about.

But a F20c will make power a 4age could never get near.
