What driveline for 4age ke70?

Postby Hachiroku » Fri Jul 07, 2006 7:20 pm

Looking at having another go at a 4age ke70 swap if I find a better shell. Just weighing up options for what driveline to use. I'll be running a standard smallport motor and the car will be a daily driver which may see occaisional track use. Would I be best to:

a) Keep it simple, T50, Corona T-series drum diff?
b) Do it once, do it right, W55, hilux diff converted to disc?
c) Other suggestions?

How necessary are rear discs on a ke70?
I've heard that the standard ke70 driveshaft will mate the 20 spline t50 to the t series diff. True or false?

No prizes for geussing what I voted, Is it a sedan or wagon, wagon have the 6.38" diff which has a different diff head flange, but yes a KE70 driveshaft will go into a 20 Spline T50.

Rear discs arent necessary, but if you decide to put hilux diff in, it will use all your 88kw just to get the drums moving, let alone the wheels. Besides a rear disc conversion on a hilux is piece of piss.
