I've been toying with the idea of starting a business venture...
And I'd like to know a few things.
So.
What do you think is the most important feature for a daily driven car.
I know a few of these options kinda overlap. But I'm trying to gauge just which area(s) of the market are viable. So bear with me.

Economic and Comfortable, My daily is a 1994 EE100 Corolla, its economic, but 10X as nice and comfy as the likes of an EE80 or 90. I spend most of my time driving it, so have to be comfortable in it, and also need to be able to afford to run it.
Basically my weekend car is loud, low, on stiff as shit adjustables, race seats etc....For me daily needs to be the exact opposite

I voted "fun to drive" because I feel that covers most things,
It doesn't need to be powerful or great handling, just a fun car to drive.
Sounds are also required.

I'd go for fun to drive as well. My AW is loud, doesn't have sounds, is pretty uneconomical for a 4AGE, but I loooooove driving it

Fuel economy.
The cruddy $650 ee90 gets 100 km's out of $10 at the moment, and it stops me driving like a nut... cos it just plain sucks

For me fuel economy was the important factor in buying the daily Rolla.
I don't care what it looks like or how fast it goes etc as long as it's gets me from from point A to B reliably and as cheaply as possible that's all that matters to me.

Lack of theft value.
I want to be able to park my daily driver anywhere at any time without fear of it being broken into/stolen.
Also has to be something you enjoy driving. Because you're driving it lots, so you may as well make the time you spend driving it as pleasent as possible.

As I seem to recall you failed to specify who you were referring to when making the above comment.

cost to run the thing and lack of theft value.
$400 *cough*honda civic*cough* easily gets over 200kms to $20 of gas.
I have mates that live in some of the dodgier areas of town, so Its good to not have to worry about it being gone in the morning if I go out on the piss.

Comfortable...
I park in a locked garage most of the time, and I travel about 50km to work... so it takes a while on aucklands roads...
And heh I guess she's pretty economical too... 400kms to 40l of gas...

I only have one car, my daily driver mr2. stiff, loud, thirsty, unreliable (but getting better!) But it is SO much Fun! Even driving sanely I enjoy it.
I find that I tend to drive slow normal cars faster than I do the 2. I thrash little pox box cars, but treat my pride and joy with respect and kid gloves most of the time!
Although when I can afford it I will have a diesel station wagon for the runaround and a fire breathing RX7 for weekends

I chose
FUN as most important. But my daily is my only driveable car....
fuel economy
not worried, but being a 1600, why would I
Quiet
as long as sounds ok, not concerned
Powerful
easier to have fun if its got some power, so important
Environmentally friendly
yeah right
Handles well
important.
Comfortable
important.

Economy was the reason I bought the KP, which was bought purely as a daily driver with absolutely no aspirations whatsoever to modify or improve any aspect of it........

My Vectra GT is great, cd stacker in the boot, air con, manual, 130hp. Goes along ok, can get 12km/litre around town and 15km/litre on the open road. Reasonably comfy, but still a barrel of laughs throwing it around the Hunderlees or Whangamoas. Can carry heaps of stuff, and it tows ok too. Managed to carry a fridge across town in the boot/backseat with the seats folded down
All for $1000.

Comfort and space are the most important things for me. That's why the 2 sits in the garage till the weekend.
