Mirror tints or black titnts on old school cars

Just wondering what your opinions are, say on a ke20/ke30/datson1200 or similar.

Legal tints of course, the 30% "mirror" tints wich arnt a mirror as such just make it hard to see in. As seen on a lot of late model upper market euros from factory or the midnight express black tints.

I found tints really make a difference on interior temps especially in the summer so am pretty keen on getting tints of some sort. But am thinking the light mirror tints would look pretty cool on a old school car. Its pretty JDM, JDM wheels etc.

You meaning mirror tints or 35%? I think any car is improved with a well done 35% tint job, but mirror just looks tacky.

35% black on the 36 wagons, nothing at all on any 20 series stuff, and 30s are boring so who cares :)

Think you misunderstood what i mean by mirror tints, i was meaning the stuff that looks like clear glass but you cant really see through it. Just seems to be quite a bit of glare.

You see it on a lot of 500series mercs and stuff from factory. Looks a lot like a clear film but it reflects enough so you just cant see through it, not even sure if its avalable in shops.

Not the reflective shit!!

I know the stuff you mean, and I think it could look really good. Would depend on the colour and "look" of the car though.

I have just had Midnight Express Tints put on my car. i obiviously didnt think it through though as the car is a dark green colour, and now it looks all bogan like. Would look awesome if the car was a lighter colour.
So unless you are going for a bogan look, i would recommend Bole tints instead.

yeah after a think i decided no tints would look best, but the suns ruthless! Tints actually help a shitload.

will think about a clear film of some sort, just to block those UV rays and keep the interior lookin nice :D

Maybe a security film or something.

security film is not so secure ;)

keeps the window in more or less one piece when its broken and it makes less noise when it breaks

But it takes longer to break in and the alarm will sound for longer.

Thats the point i see, anything to slow them down the better, because in the end thats all you can do. they will still get what they want.

Do the clear films help keep out heat or not?
I hate hopping into a toasty car, the home security tints on my lancer are awesome, there about 3-5 times as thick as car tints and keep the inside pretty cool, feels like the aircons been on its mint.

But dont want a bogan mobile, wanna keep the car as jdm looking as possible

Might chuck a oversized oil cooler on the front with massive chrome braided lines and anodized fittings and a 3m high exhaust pipe on it 8)

There's a light yellow KE around pukekohe with mirrorish tints, looks pretty rank IMO.

But I still think they can be pulled off.
