ive noticed theres a few keen gamers on here, we all gotta do something in our spare time aye  just wondering what people are going to be going with.

personally I was originally going to go for a PS3, but after seeing the release price, and only having stuck with sony for the gran turismo and GTA series(which is now on xbox anyway) , i think ive pretty much decided to convert over to an xbox 360. by the time PS3 comes out itll be half the price for a kitted out 360 than it is for a kitted out PS3, and 360 already has a well established online community and loads of games..

so whos going to get what, or you going get them all, or whatever?

oh theres no PC option coz you people are too cool

At this point in time, I'm only really interested in the PS3, but I won't be buying it for a long while yet. Not until its come down in price by heaps.

yeah the full ps2 release price looks to be ~1200, a full 360 setup now is around 800, and i suspect it will drop significantly when the ps3 comes in around march. and wtf is with releasing different versions, different sized hard drives and online packages and shit :?

imo a console is meant to be idiot proof, you should walk in and be able to buy the best version available only. if people wanted to muck around with that crap and speccing it up they would just get a good gaming PC

the wii seems very good. I have seen some of the games on xbox 360 and yes i was impressed.

But i just think its bloody awesome being able to smack a ball around like in real life.

Wii is just such good value.

Will be even better when more games come out.

have to admit i havent seen much of the wii first hand, but im sorta put off as it looks a bit gimicky to me :? is it going to have the same capabilities as the other 2?

from what ive heard its capabilities are only abit better than the first xbox.

but Nintendo has always been more about the gameplay and whatnot.

Zelda is bloody amazing game.

Always been abig fan of nintendo, and they are always first to try new things.

need for speed carbon is good fun as well.

for the price i dont think the other 2 can compare in terms of fun and playability.

We have both a Wii and a 360, the games on the wii are fun but i cant get to involved in anything other than the sports games.. The red steel game when watching somone else play irratated me for the sillyest of things.. mostly the talking.

I mean games are programmed on a if something happens do somthing type basis, and it seems when ever you back step it triggers the AI to say " Whered he go ", so run backwards to dodge ( still in sight of them ) and you lose your mind within mins due to the talking of the bots.

However im sure a game such as Zelda wouldnt have such effects, but i do find it hard to control accuratly via the Wiimote.

360 on the other hand is good, but still has its down points and i would like to highlight this to Anyone looking to get one.. There appears to be a downfall in design that means when it gets hot ( weather, extended use etc ) it screen locks among other issues.

Google is coverd with posts about it, Microsoft seem to blame it on everything but the machine.. Sad really.

Ive learnt to live with the rebooting on a few hourly basis, and aside from that its got nothing against it. As far as mods go you can flash the DVD rom ( no chips required ) allowing you to play backup and overseas games.

I think the wii is good value for adults, but i think its clearly been marketed towards the youth of today to stop them been such lazy fatasses as our selves, and that to me is where im struggling to enjoy it as much. This said i should perhaps check out Zelda.

What you need is a watercooled Xbox 360...

Chicken man, Ive allready started looking into a kit the same or like that one.. But if you dont want to be flash and remove the noisey fan noise you can apparantly replace the thermal goo from the CPU and GPUs..

Naturally this voids the warrenty so your naffed either way.

I've been ripping shit apart for years, warranties are over-rated :D

Some arctic silver 5 will make a difference but not that much... can drill some holes in the case and make sure the air is actually flowing through it not just swirling around inside. How did the sony get the ps3 so right? Apparently it's silent as and it only has one fan(pic below). Crazy what engineers can come up with given fixed parameters.

Warrenty gives something to attempt to stand on, without one you just outright fall.

Don't be so meek, if it lasts a month it's probably going to last for ages. Everything you buy has an MTBF of usually a few years, in the case of the 360 if you don't do something about it's temperature related reboots/screen locks then it's going to die very quickly. IMO worth voiding the warrenty if you are capable of doing a decent job of it and aint a butcher (like me with cars :D .. I jest :o ).

Got a wii when they came out, it was awesome. loved the sports games, call of duty 3 was awesome. just need more games. Been looking at the 360 might get one but had a go on the ps3 last year in LA and it was pretty good, nice load times etc..

Will see what GT5 is like before buying Ps3. i think that 1 game alone will make or break the ps3 if GT is good and has all the old skool cars etc.. (dont see any reason why not with Blue ray disc space) then yeah hook me up.
