I was actually look for a C34 at one stage with the dirtty RB20E  Besides the engine transplant I would of thought the manual conversion would prove a little tricky as they have a floor operated handbrake. How do you get around this problem?

A skyline one bolts straight up, just have to drill a small hole in the trans tunnel, it's all marked for you, just not drilled.

I voted VH45DE, but look for a VK45DE. Ftmfw.

VH41's are cheap, (compared to 45's anyway).

My old man had one in a rally car, was mental.

Depends what you want it for.. for street/cruising, I'd go the VH45, but for thrashing and the odd track/drift day, I'd just drop in a big-turbo RB25DET.

Maybe its' just me, but all the V8 cars I've driven/been in have been a little on the boring side, yeah they can be damn fast, but I prefer higher revs, and the rush of mid to top-end torque that you only get with turbocharging.. but then you could have the best of both worlds, and turbo a VH45.. but then you'd have far too much HP for the chassis, I would think that 400hp would be ample in a C34, any more would turn in into a whippy handful.. all IMO! :)

Yeah big turbo RB25s are a LOT of fun :) RB30DETs don't really have much in the way of a peak power advantage as they are restricted to the same or less head flow (R32 RB25 NA heads are usually used) but DO have a lot of down low torque which is good for streetability. RB25s have a wider useable powerband.

VK45DE has a similar powerband to a RB25, 7000rpm redline and make ~253kw stock which makes them quite a substantial donk to start with. ~400hp with a few boltons and NA response and reliability along with the sound makes them something I crave but don't need as such haha

fully worked 4k? but go twin carbs seeing you have to replace the 6 cylinder powerplant

try something different to the usual drift styles rb's. k20
