Just curious on peoples thoughts whether there are benefits from wrapping my factory blacktop 4AGE extractors with fibre-glass wool heat wrap? Engine bay is pretty standard just that i have the wrap at home. Not likely to cause the manifold to crack or anything like?

Probably wont make much difference, you're still running the factory airbox arent you?

Yeah went back to factory set-up - goes just as well as it did with the pod filter just quieter!
You never got back to me with the price of a K&N panel filter either! might have to go see Sam.....

heat wrap keeps the heat in the exhaust and hotter air moves faster, so will flow out better, or at least i believe thats the theory

There's a definate advantage for the person who sells the heat wrap.
Otherwise, waste of money. Extra heat in the headers causes quicker fatigue. Maybe not by much though.

Id go for HPC coating on extractors if I had to choose but then again on an 1.6 NA would you really notice an improvement in performance ?
