So Big Wednesday is kind of big this week, enough to convince a poor sap like me to buy a ticket.
Think I've bought one Lotto ticket in my life.
Who on here plays the game, and do you think it's worth it?

For the big money draws its worth throwing a few dollars at it, but otherwise I dont bother and would rather spend the money on something else, or throw it on the nose of a horse, more chance of winning that way.

Play every week, do it online for minimum effort.
Sure I know the odds..... but if I happen to win, I retire the next day and do whatever I want for the rest of my life
For $6 lotto and $6 big wed a week it's a 'tax' i'm more than willing to pay for the minuscule chance of winning. Better than blowing it on booze

I think it needs a 'never' option?

Very very occasionally. Like others - when there is a big amount on offer.
Would love to retire at 23

I've never bought a lotto ticket. It crosses my mind from time to time when the winnings are big but that's about as far as I go.

I'm pretty anti-gambling but I'll confess to buying the odd powerball ticket when it's up very high. Can't understand pissing away money every week on it though.

I buy them most weeks, split it with my old man, in that we both buy the same ticket and share the winnings, I figure double the chance at half the prize is alright, and pretty sweet when he just hands you cash and tells you its your share of the win. Admittedly its usually got coins in it, never win big. My grandfather though used to win a lot, but would never share his numbers and died a few years ago

Its a voluntary tax. I pay enough tax as it is.
+1 for never

Used to play, now I just put $20 into Kiwisaver each week and triple my money before I even get interest.

Which money is that? The money you hope is still there when you hit 65+?
Nice win rollaholic, I came out with 2k a couple years back. Could do with another win like that tbh

Yeah, the bank deposit fund with ASB. The funds that actually make money. I don't think Government want to commit suicide by dipping into personal bank accounts of citizens.
