Silvertop FTW!

Really miss mine now, such a fun engine to thrash the nuts off!
Been thinking about a AW11 with a silvertop, that would be a great combo IMO if I had money to blow on a project car.

Yeah I'm a ST fan. Best with a better ecu though!

Having driven, RT, ST and BT, for me I just can go past the RT, the others just never grew on me in the way the respond.

except for the part where the 20v engines are proven to be technologically and performance beneficial over the 16v engines.

so nothing at all like your comparisons, really.

Technology is a myth.... its a goverment conspricy designed to sap the breading potential of young men and women of the current generation...

I am just saying.. sometimes its best to go back to where it all started...

You cant honestly say star wars ep1/2/3 were better then the original can you?

Who cares about darth vaders back story all we care about is hes in a black suit and breaths heavy.. , give me princess leigha in a metal bikini and a guy who plays with his wookie all day....

16v = Ep 4/5/6
20V= Ep 1/2/3

Star wars in a nutshell:
The baddies are all white and called Stormtroopers and led by a black stormtrooper called Darth Vader (little racist but oh well). The baddies storm (that's all they can do - that and troop) on the white triangle ships.The baddies have this big round star ship that fires this big lazer beam and destroys planets.
It's time for Luke to be heroic and say to his collection of really weird mates and a wookie: "May the force be with you." It works: the baddies all end up getting killed, whereas nobody on the goodies' side worth caring about dies.

But thats not important right now....... :lol: (airplane reference for all you young guys)

The bluetop is simple and basic, its not flash and makes not much power but it does its job... its like the old man of the 4a series.. the 20v is the young kid who you can never understand who listens to music where all the do is scream and plays on computers you can control with your fingers....

The bluetop is also the 4AGE with the least power isn't it?

Power = fun, in my books anyway. If I wanted simple I would have ticked the 4K box, THAT is simple.

yeah actually fundamentally both engines are the same, they both use similar sensors, ecus, block design etc. The 20v just has a way better intake, exhaust and head setup. The 16v and 20v is not comparable in the term of old school vs new school like you seem to be suggesting. there was less than 10 years between the release of one then the other.

Power is one thing, the way it handles under your right boot is another. For a track car/thrash the crap out of it all the time type of car, sure a 20V is better. To live with every day and enjoy whatever your mood of driving, 16V all the way.

Never driven a 16v only a 20v. People harp on about them having no mid range rady ra but with the 6speed box I don't think thats really a problem there at all. Only time I've found that is when there is more than one passenger in the car (what ever performance there was dissapears completely :lol: ). So only take one person and the problem is solved - I imagine it's probably a similar story with 16v's?.

How long did you daily a 20v for to work out they aren't any good compared to the 16v? I know a lot of the opinions will be biased towards what you actually have to drive on a daily basis but it just doesn't add up to me.

Borrowed a mates car for a few weeks (BZ wagon). Didnt say they're not as good, the 16V just fits me better, just prefer the way they behave over the 20V. Just IMO, others would disagree, all comes down to the individual driver really.

why is anyone taking ST over BT? dont give me the broken rods story.

i love smallports too, but you cant go past a BT for peaky fun (you have to rev them all, so why not choose the one that does it best :P)
