Yeah will watch some of it, no intention of sitting down and watching it non-stop start to finish though.

Bugger the rose tinted back in the day view, the racing is better than ever now :D

Every year all my friends come together to watch Bathurst - without exception.

For the most part we watch a bit of the race, go outside & throw a rugby ball or something, watch a bit more, have a BBQ, watch a bit more again etc. etc.

The only exception is my mates wife - who will watch the race start to finish without interuptions (& gets angry when we make too much noise). Her dad is usually in Murphs' pit. He spends an insane amount of Holden clothing, HSV's & regular Holdens (including his fleet of Holden company cars for his business), and he once yelled at me for parking my Mazda (aka: brother to Ford) in his driveway.

not quite sure how you figure that, kiwi4agze insinuated that the ABs were playing australia on sunday. Which as i stated NZ are playing Argentina and Australia are playing SA, sure the time i guessed for the Abs game is slightly wrong and the Aus SA game is on sunday not sat, clearly i remembered incorrectly.

maybe you should get your facts right before being a wanker about it....

Enough of the abuse, enough of the rugby.

I went to bathurst every year for 5 years, now i watch the first 20 laps and last 20 laps...

I was going to go this year but wife said NO!

I liked it when the serria's and GTR's used to race... First year in New Zealand the GTR won, was great as i liked them back then..

Quoted for absolute truthfulness

The Gis impresses me greatly, and I would give my left one for him to win on sunday. Its so good to see his teamed up with Mr Mac too, as he is no slouch, and proved in the last race he can run at the sharp end of the grid.

As for the original question, yes I will be watching it, as I do every year, from start to finish, the tension as the clouds roll in towards the end of the race is great, and always adds a little spice to the race. Hopefully there isnt too many safety car periods as the last thing I want is to have to set up the second tv in the lounge so I can watch the end of Bathurst, and the start of the f1 at 6.55...its going to be cutting it VERY fine if theres rain and crashes all day.

I attended the race in 08, and rather than sitting in a L&H hospo tent at the "chase" all day, drinking boags and stuffing my face, I decided to walk the entire length of the track throughout the race to watch from as many vantage points as possible, not to mention getting good footage on the video camera. I walked from the kink on conrod straight, right up to the top of the mountain, and down to forest elbow where you cant go any further, it took me 6 hours so its FAR bigger than it looks on TV. Burnt the back of my neck, thats for sure ;)

The guys at the top of the hill are hilarious, and I had so much fun up there watching their behaviour. Not somewhere you would want to take your lady if she is even remotely un-troglodite'ish (hows that for a word?)

The cops dont $&#$% around over there though, quite intimidating seeing 30 cops, all strapped with glocks, marching in a line. Full searches and drug dogs on the buses that take you up the hill etc, something I wouldnt expect at anything other than a gang headquarters reunion.

Anyway, must go, FP1 starts in 5 ;)
